It might just be my personal bias, but I am a huge fan of peated whisky in Sauternes casks. Its something about how the more delicate, fruit and citrus zest notes dance around the denser, heavier peat and oily notes. Perhaps I’m reading into it a little too much, but the imagery of a harpy dancing on the Islay breeze does come to mind for this one.
What an awesome release from Ardbeg.
