Description

A Partnership with Maclean & Bruce in Scotland, this Adelphi bottling of Ardnamurchan is similar, but different to the last M&B release put out a few years ago… Ardnamurchan is in good hands when it comes to Adelphi, with this release showing off some of the more powerful, savoury and oily characteristics that are sometimes exhibited by the distillery.

The colour is a beautiful reddish hue, that makes me hungry just looking at it.

Best paired with a fried, scottish meal, on a hillside in the highlands…

Adelphi is one of the world’s top independent bottlers of whisky. They acquire casks already matured to bottle, as opposed to maturing them themselves, and the Adelphi brand has been synonymous with top quality whisky for in the post-2000 era.  The company also owns the Ardnamurchan distillery on Scotland’s east coast, which distilled its first spirit in 2014 and released its first single malt in 2020.

Alex Bruce described the whisky made at Ardnamurchan as being of its environment. “We chose Arndamurchan, this remote, rugged, highland, west coastal peninsula, we chose it to build a distillery, not because it would be impossible to get to and all that sort of stuff, but most importantly we chose it because of the climate and what it is and what it can do to whisky. “We’ve built a distillery, we’re trying to make the best possible spirit that we can but everything else we’re handing over to the environment. If I was to copy and paste Ardnamurchan somewhere else in Scotland or somewhere else in the world, you would get a very different whisky. The profile that we are naturally getting out there is a very maritime, very coastal profile.”
