A single sherry cask of Port Charlotte-grade peated malt from Islay’s Bruichladdich distillery.
This expression was distilled June 2002 and October 2016 after 14 years in a sherry hogshead. It has now been released in Australia by Whisky & Wisdom – the blog of renowned whisky identity Andrew Derbidge.
This cask is part of a wave of expressions coming to light following a period of barrel investment at the turn of the century. While the distillery has bought many of the casks back off private investors, a number are finding their way to marketing as independent bottlers. The juice is regularly excellent and this W&W bottling is very well priced compared to its peers.
It spent its entire life maturing at the distillery before it was bottled at 58.4%.
