Handpicked on the same day as 'Dead Ohio Sky' from the Paeroa vineyard in McLaren Vale, farmed organically although not certified. Destemmed for a whole berry ferment, the fruit was foot trodden for the first 5 days and then gently hand plunged until dry. The resulting wine was pressed to old puncheons where it remained on gross less for 6 months until bottling. Unfined & unfiltered.
'Same fruit as the Rose as mentioned above, walking the line between the meaty, gamey, earthy styles of Southern France and the light, fresh and playful wines we know and love from Poppelvej. This does a fantastic job, mineral, peppery spices on the nose with freshly turned earth, wet rock, and overgrown herb garden aromas. Then to watermelon, rosehip, ruby grapefruit, and morello cherries on the palate. All wrapped up with earthy savoury tannins. Simply delightful!' - Joe Perry
