Bottled at 55.2% this Select Cask is extremely good value from the team at Paul John in Goa, India.
Older than their other offerings, malt, honey, vanilla and tropical fruits jump out at the palate. They're followed through with deep sugars and oak notes.
This is non-chill filtered and the coating mouth feel is testament to that.
Tasting notes by The Oak Barrel:
"The nose is surprisingly fruity for a bourbon cask, with watermelon and grape coming to the fore. The palate is very grippy - thanks to this being non-chill filtered - with burnt toffee, toast and deep sugars. With time (and water) there's even more fruit, with banana and pineapple."

Holding themselves to the spirit and ideals of single malt Scotch whisky for the Paul John label, they have a uniquely Indian take on the style.
Six-row barley sourced from the foothills of the Himalayas is not the easiest variant to use of highest yielding, but it produces an oily, rich spirit. They use a ball-shape wash still and onion-shaped spirit still which create a full bodied but fruity spirit that is matured either in above or underground warehousing.
