Rich and creamy sake with a distinct honeyed flavour.
Established in 1884, Okuharima brewery is located in Hyogo prefecture, the same prefecture where yamada rice (seen as the king of sake rice) originated from.
The brewery emphasises taste and texture over aroma (though the honeyed aroma is delightful) as well as being able to enjoy this sake at a range of different temperature -we particularly enjoyed it at room temperature.
This sake is:
Junmai (no added alcohol)
Ginjo (55% polished Yamada rice)
Yamahai (ancient method of producing base fermentation naturally)
Koshu (2005 Vintage)
