The fifth release of Buffalo Trace's OFC overaged bourbon series, this 1995 vintage is 25-year-old.
OFC refers to Old Fashioned Copper, the original name of the distillery site that is now Buffalo Trace. Previous editions were gifted to charitable organisations and have been highly sought after.
As well as being exceptionally rare bourbon whiskey, the packaging is also grandiose. The bottle is a crystal decanter with copper inlaid lettering.
Very limited allocations into Australia. Following the trend of the 2020 Antique Collection series, the local allocation for the 1995 OFC is far smaller than last year's 1994.
Buffalo Trace is the distillery behind other cult bourbons like Pappy Van Winkle, Eagle Rare and Sazerac.
Official Tasting notes:
Cherry cordial on the nose followed by caramel and slightly smoked-oak. Dark chocolate, tobacco leaves and dates are found on the palate, followed by a lingering finish of leather, black pepper and cinnamon.
