Description

A 13-year-old heavily peated whisky from the Loch Lomond distillery, bottled by North Star as part of Cask Series 14.

Croftengea is one of the many spirit styles distilled at Loch Lomond for internal blending, a heavily peated style - the peatiest the they produce -  it is rarely seen as single malt.

This was distilled March 2007 and bottled in February 2021 from a refill hogshead. 13-years-old with 155 bottles at 49.5%.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Black peppercorns roasting on an open fire.

Palate: Sweet and salted caramel crush and highland peat.

Finish: The smoke stays with more fruit and salt.

North Star have quickly become one of The Oak Barrel's favourite independent bottlers. Exceptional cask selections at very reasonable prices, they are exciting, fun whiskies - even when they're very serious - which are designed to be drunk and shared.
