A mezcal made from a range of different agave strains, chosen by the distiller.
Mezcal Vago works with distillers to craft unique and tasty mezcals and are incredibly transparent with the process.
This was distilled by Saloman Rey Rodriguez in Sola de Vega, Oaxaca. He used 84 percent Espadin agave, but boosted that with less prominent strains such as Barril (7%), Arroqueno (4%) and Mexicano (5%).
The agave was hand grinded and distilled through a clay still in July 2016. The batch yielded 307 litres.
Rich, earthy and full bodied, the clay still seems to come through in the earthy minerality.
