Mezcal Union is a collaborative venture that brings together over 20 palenques and farmers; providing them with investment, business development and a secure income stream. The micro-distilleries that Mezcal Union works with are supplied with money and knowledge and a guaranteed buyer for their final product.
Furthermore, Mezcal Union focus heavily on sustainability. To date they have planted over 750,000 Espadin, Cirial and Tobala agaves along the Sierra; whilst paying close attention to avoiding soil erosion.
The Uno release is a combination of mezcals made from 8 and 14 year old Espadin and Cirial agaves. It is Chilean Tahona ground and copper alembic distilled. The result is sweet and fruity; apples and pears, yet mildly earthy, smoky and herbaceous.
