The 2018 batch of Neisson's organic agricole rhum.
Certified by the European Union as organic, the artist Philippe Beaudelocque has designed the packaging for this sought-after release.
This rum was produced in 2018 from canes collected manually between March and April. They come from plots T1, T2 and T3. 52.8%.
Nose: It conveys a vegetal note which is more refined compared to the 2017 version. This vintage is characterized by its aromatic intensity featuring predominant citrus notes, and more specifically lime, which combine with anise and sugarcane floral notes.
Palate: Lime appears from the first mouthful, conveying a hint of acidity. The impression of sweetness lingers on the finish, which is of high intensity.
Neisson is small distillery at the entrance of a fishing village on Martinique island. It is led by Gregory Vernant Neisson, who today is the last Master Distiller and owner in the island.
Neisson owns forty hectares in the municipality of La Carbet, and processes only the cane from these plantations, where they seek to cultivate three non-hybrid sugar cane varieties: the malanoi, the rubane and the crystalline.
Slow fermentation of pure cane juice lasts 72 hours, the longest in all the French Antilles, thus developing a unique aromatic range. The distillation is carried out by Gregory in the mythical Savalle column still from 1938: a meticulous distillation with low alcohol content for the intention of producing a rhum of great structure, bottled in the now iconic rectangular bottle.
