Located in Cogny near Villefranche-sur-Saône, in the south of Gamay land outside of the famous 10 cru appellation. Benjamin, with his wife Laure, took over his family vineyards, most of them aged over 100 years old. Included in the total 3 ha, there is also a little Chardonnay and Gamaret. Soils are rich in clay and limestone with a good percentage of granite. This part of Beaujolais \ used to be one of the old historical area in Beaujolais and you still find lots of old bush vines.
The vinification is a mix of destemmed and whole clusters, with about 10 days maceration. Ageing then in very old Burgundy barrels. It's funky and fresh, very earthy but with pure ripe berry fruit on the palate. A producer to watched.
