Kuromatsu is not just any typical Honjozo style sake. Medium dry body with beautiful fragrance and viscosity on the palate, lingering and dense. It shows the characteristics and distinctive flavor of Kenbishi.

Kenbishi is known as the first sake brewery to be branded in Japan. In days of old, Kenbishi was very popular sake enjoyed by samurai and the logo can be seen in 16th-century paintings.

This Honjozo is made with Yamada Nishiki rice and the addition of a special Aiyama rice only used by this brewery. It is fermented using the Yamahai technique, to enhance the body and creamy flavour.

Silvery straw color. Interesting, umami aromas and flavors of marinated mushrooms, cacao, hint of tamali and rice cake with a satiny, vibrant, medium body and a smooth, medium-length chocolate coconut milk finish.

It is one of the few sakes that can be enjoyed at all temperatures. Warming this sake will smoothen out its strong characteristics. On the other hand, drinking this sake chilled is the best way to enjoy its deeper flavor and elegance.
