An 8-year-old Teaninich from James Eadie's "Small Batch" series.
The Small Batch series is vatted from two-to-four bottles for each release and bottled at 46% at natural colour and without chill filtration.
This Teaninich release used casks #718018, #718019 and #721587 with 1,084 bottles produced.
They were a mixture od refill casks and first-fill bourbon casks.
A little-known distillery in terms of single malts, it is widely prized by blenders. Often fresh and grassy, it can take on beautiful caramels and tropical fruits from ex-bourbon casks.
James Eadie is an independent bottler that takes the name of a 160-year-old brand, named after the famed brewer of the same name. Born 1827, Eadie was perhaps best known for his self-made brewery but also released a brand of blended Scotch, under the Trade Mark “X” brand.
Over 110 years after his death in 1904, Rupert Patrick – a great-grandson of Eadie – has brought the name back with the blend but also a single malt, single cask bottling arm. Patrick had worked form Macleod Distillers, Beam Suntory and Diageo before stepping out on his own and is recognised as a Keeper of the Quaich.
