A 20-year-old Isle Of Jura single malt bottled for Jack Wieber's Whisky World.
This was distilled 1998 and bottled as a 20-year-old. 51.2% with 242 bottles. Matured in an ex-bourbon cask.
Whyte & Mackay-owned Jura was first built in 1810 on the island that shares its name. A chequered history of closures, dismantles and rebuilds has led to a hugely popular distillery, particularly in the UK. A cult loved distillery, they tend to be reasonably weighty whiskies with gentle smoke. We think it shines brightest currently in the hands of independent bottlers.
Jack Wieber is based our of Berlin, Germany and have been releasing whisky since 1998. Renowned for exceptional quality, they are largely unavailable outside of select European outlets and are certainly a rare commodity in Australia.
The 'Old Train Line' series is regarded as being as amongst some of the world's most desireable bottles for seasoned independent bottler lovers, despite (or perhaps because of) JW's private and sometimes eccentric approach.
Each bottle is sealed with a wax seal with hand-applied labels.
