Blended from over 25 different cognacs made from grapes grown across the Grande and Petite Champagne regions. The majority in this release comes from Grande Champagne.

The VSOP branding means that the youngest brandy in this blend has been aged for at least four years.

Very smooth and delicate, youll start to get some spice and oak coming through on the strong vanilla and floral notes.

Thomas Hine was an Englishman who came to France in 1791 in search of business opportunities, but he was almost immediately imprisoned under suspicion of being a spy during those years of revolution. Following that ordeal he married a local girl, Francoise Elisabeth, and took a job with her father’s cognac business, which had begun in 1763.

With the business expanding and their reputation for quality and sourcing from top crus growing, Hine took over the business in 1817 and renamed it after himself. Hine died in 1822, with his family members continuing the inheritance.

Fittingly for the English roots, in 1962 Hine was awarded a royal warrant by Queen Elizabeth II and it remains the sole official cognac supplier to the British monarchy. Today the business is run by sixth generation Bernard Hine.
