This single vintage Cognac by Jean Grosperrin comes from 2001. This year was not well regarded on the wine side of production, however, the spirits distilled this year have developed in a fantastic manner. With light, mesmerising notes of peach and apricot, along with pastry cream and sublte oak spice, this single vintage Cognac outperforms a typical blend such as a VSOP or XO with ease.
Jean Grosperrin’s Cognac de Collection series features some of the finest cognacs imported into Australia. Small batch and bottled at high proofs, Grosperrin usually release in vintages which results in unique, rare expressions. Grosperrin – and now his son Guilhern – work with producers around cognac to source barrels of cognac for bottling. Often these can take the form of barrels laid down for private consumption which they have been able to access.
