A single cask GlenDronach from the Batch 16 outturn and part of a very limited Australian allocation.
This 1990 vintage was distilled 4 April and matured in Pedro Ximenez cask #7003. It was bottled 2017 as a 27-year-old, the cask yielding 617 bottles.
Once something of an industry secret given their supreme quality, these exclusively sherry cask matured single cask releases from GlenDronach are some of the most highly sought after expressions from whisky lovers around the world.
That’s particularly true in Australia, which, given our locale, tends to receive these expressions well after the rest of the world has had their go at it.
Official tasting notes:
Nose: Richly balanced with cranberry and orange peel fruitcake on a base of demerara sugar, cocoa butter and tobacco.
Palate: Sultana and apricot brandy, becoming cherry stone and cocoa leaf with a lingering velvet espresso-mocha finish.
