A unique orange bitters from Fee Brothers that is one of the flagships of their range.

Here orange bitters are aged in oak barrels which previously held Old Tom-style gin for between three and six months.

Intensely orange and zesty, the barrel-aging give them an extra dimension and lift.

Tasting notes: Soft, rounded orange notes with a hint of pitch leading into brighter orange-driven citrus notes and a deep, gentle bitterness on the palate. A long, lingering finish thanks to a pure, clean bitterness.

Bitters mixed in plain soda water for tasting purposes.

FEE BROTHERS

Originating in 1863 Fee Brothers are the stablished guard of boutique bitters. Their West Indian Orange and Old Fashioned Aromatic bitter are particularly staples in bars around the world and they also have a wide range of bespoke flavours. On the more experimental side they have the Whisky Barred Aged and Gin Barrel Aged Orange bitters.

BITTERS

Bitters are used to flavour cocktails and other drinks. Initially rising to prominence in the 1800s and often marketed as a medicinal product, cocktail bitters emerged as the cocktail-making equivalent of ‘salt and pepper’ in cooking. Although the market consolidated during the 20th century, there has been a boom of small, hand-crafted flavours from all over the world since the turn of the millennium.

They add complexity and refinement, helping balance sweet and other flavours. You do not need to be a world-class bartender to enjoy them, however, they can be utilised as simply as adding a few dashes to soda water to add flavour, something particularly effective after a night of indulgence.
