A single malt whisky from an undisclosed Scottish distillery from Malaysian bottler Eiling Lim.
Called ‘Bessie’s Dram’, the name is a nod to Bessie Williamson, who was a former owner of the Laphroaig distillery – becoming the first woman to manage a Scotch distillery during the 20th century.
A quick nose of this dram, which is bottled at 51.3%, and you might be able to pick where this one comes from.
Indeed, Lim says, “I think I don’t have to mention the origins of this whisky bottling.â€
Classic coastal notes are fused with rich creamy fruits of what is certainly ex-bourbon cask maturation.
Eiling Lim is Malaysia's first and only whisky bottler and carries out her business under the motto of of “life's too short to drink bad whiskiesâ€. Cask selection is often done in consultation with her husband, and former indie bottler, Luc Timmermans, and together they search for excellent expressions.
