Weingut Egon Muller is so often mentioned as one of the most premium Riesling producers in the world, ‘The Romanee Conti of Riesling’ as it has been said. Weingut Egon Muller’s wines are so highly revered that a 375ml bottles of the 2003 Scharzhofberger Trockenbeerenauslese sold at auction for the equivalent of $19,000 aud.
Muller’s Kabinett style wines show more structure, elegance, and finesse than other Mosel wines whilst still maintaining incredible aging potential. This is due to a reduction in residual sugars when harvesting.
Expect beautiful aromas of grapefruit, blackberries, fresh white flowers, touches of nashi pear. On the palate, immense freshness with fruity spice. Lemon peels dance well with ripe minerality for a stunning lengthy finish.
While this wine is incredible now, it will benefit greatly from careful aging and over many years. A true icon of Riesling throughout the world and an essential for any great cellar.
