The rich, full bodied VSOP cognac from Drouet.
Aged an average of ten-years, this is a highlight from their line-up and is only brought into Australia in small quantities. Even then it’s more likely to be seen at high end restaurants, rather than retail.
A historic cognac house founded in 1848, Drouet produce their spirit from grapes grown in the Grande Champagne region. Holding true to the traditional cognac methods, the house puts a big emphasis on the cultivation and sustainability of their vineyards. They mostly farm ugni blanc grapes, but have been known to use a small amount of colombard also.
Drouet is currently run by the third generation of family members – Corinne and Patrick Drouet. Grandparents Irene and Gabriel Drouet were housekeepers to the original 1848 L’Homme family and carried on the distilling, the Drouet family eventually acquiring the estate.
