A bourbon-cask finished 18-year-old from Deanston.Â
The highland distillery - who do not add colour or chill filter their whiskies - have bottled this at their usual 46.3% alcohol.
A classic Deanston with rich honey, vanilla and malt notes all in a refined, oily package. The 18-year-old, which is very limited in Australia, also has deep American oak and tobacco notes.
The distillery is notable for having a waxy new make (like Clynelish or Dailuaine), probably thanks to a lengthy fermentation and ascending lyne arms. Works very well with American oak.
