The Côte Rôtie appellation covers 280 hectares and is includes three districts on the right side of the Rhone River: Saint-Cyr-sur-Rhône, Ampuis and Tupin-Semons.
The granite soils are mostly situated on very steep terraces between 180 m and 325 m and viticulture can only be carried out only by hand.Côte Rôtie is one of France’s oldest vineyard areas. The wine is mainly composed by Syrah (min 80%) but can contain up to 20% of Viognier grapes. The Grand Vin 2017 comes both from the Northern and the Southern part of the appellation.
The grapes were very healthy, with no coulure and low yields maintained. The grapes were harvested by hand. Cold maceration; then vinification in small tanks before being aged in oak barrels for more than one year. High quality natural corks are used for closure.
The colour of the Grand Vin is brilliant and limpid. The nose is very rich with notes of blackberry, liquorice and pepper. The palate is rigorous and silky. The finish is fresh and very long.We suggest you accompany it with a duck stew, beef tartar ora beef tournedos with foie gras.
Serve at 16-18°C. Rewards cellaring until 2027.
