A peated single malt release from the Corowa Distilling Co, this is a cask strength, single cask matured in an American oak ex-bourbon cask.
This was distilled 15 November 2017 and matured in an ex-Jack Daniels cask #242. It was bottled 17 June 2020 at 55%.
Cask #242 yielded 394 bottles, which are individually numbered.
Has the same barbecue notes of Corowa's other peated single casks, but a cleaner expression than the fortified wine casks. Very precise by comparison.
Nose: Balance of floral and peat with honey and vanilla
Palate: Nice balanced mid palate with fruity and sweet notes.
Finish: Long and smokey with hints of grain.
Located on the NSW side of the Victorian border, Corowa distilling is an extension of the Druce family's chocolate business in Junee. Having agreed to acquire an old flour mill from the council for the princely sum of $1, major renovations were untaken to turn the site into a functioning distillery and tourist destination.
