Glen Garioch is one of Scotland's oldest distilleries, having been founded in 1797. Although the distillery had a decidedly peated note until the malting floors were decommissioned in 1997, modern distillations have been largely unpeated.
Short ferments give a rich cereal note that is broad and thick on the palate after maturation.
Carn Mor is an independent bottling arm of Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers. The company has gone through a few names, being founded as John Murray & Co before it was taken over in 2005 by Kenny Mackay and former Morrison Bowmore chairman Brian Morrison. Initially bottling Scotch whisky under Carn Mor alongside the production of liqueurs, they founded the Aberagie distillery in Perthsire in 2017.
When Brian and son Jamie Morrison took sole ownership they rebranded as Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers in 2020. The Old Perth sherry cask matured blended malt and Mac-Talla Islay single malt brands are also part of the company's portfolio.
