"Bold and beautiful with smoked bacon and soft spices."
Islay's Bunnahabhain produces a majority of un-peated spirit while somewhere around 25% of their whisky produced in modern times is peated. Producing a whisky that is full-flavoured but on the lighter side and quite malleable, it's often seen in ex-sherry casks which help provide a richness and the house ginger note.
Carn Mor is an independent bottling arm of Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers. The company has gone through a few names, being founded as John Murray & Co before it was taken over in 2005 by Kenny Mackay and former Morrison Bowmore chairman Brian Morrison. Initially bottling Scotch whisky under Carn Mor alongside the production of liqueurs, they founded the Aberagie distillery in Perthsire in 2017.
When Brian and son Jamie Morrison took sole ownership they rebranded as Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers in 2020. The Old Perth sherry cask matured blended malt and Mac-Talla Islay single malt brands are also part of the company's portfolio.
