A 1996 vintage from Speyside's Glendullan distillery, bottled by Cadenhead.
This was matured in two ex-bourbon hogsheads for 19 years before being bottled in 2016 at 53.4%. There are 480 bottles in this expression.
Built in 1897, Glendullan is one of the malts that appears under Diageo's Singleton range. The new make showcases a green and grassy character.
Nose: Toffee and vanilla notes with a short burst of liquorice.
Palate: Light and creamy with notes of caramel.
Finish: A long warming finish with a continuation of the caramel with hints of vanilla and toffee coming through again.
Cadenhead is Scotland's oldest independent bottler, having being founded in 1842 as William Cadenhead Limited Wine & Spirit Merchants. It was family owned until it was bought by another family company J&A Mitchell & Co, owners of the Springbank distillery.
