A 1998 vintage from Speyside's Glen Moray distillery, bottled by Cadenhead.
This was matured in two ex-bourbon hogsheads for 17 years before being bottled in 2015 at 55.8%. There are 504 bottles in this expression.
Nose: Plums, gingerbread with custard creams and hints of toffee.
Palate: Honey; very oily with all spice; brown sugar; cloves and a touch of cinnamon.
Finish: Warming ginger spice; lingering coffee beans and marzipan.
Cadenhead is Scotland's oldest independent bottler, having being founded in 1842 as William Cadenhead Limited Wine & Spirit Merchants. It was family owned until it was bought by another family company J&A Mitchell & Co, owners of the Springbank distillery.
