It’s a brand new label for this first batch of blended malt under the Westport brand name. It can’t be called a ‘teaspooned malt’ on the label due to SWA regulations, but that is what this is. It's also a vatting of two Sherry butts from October 1997.

‘Teaspooning’ was introduced in the 1980’s by William Grant & Sons. In the trade these teaspooned malts all have names; Burnside, Wardhead, Westport, are all recognised..

Westport is the brand name for teaspooned Glenmorangie. Glenmorangie owned Glen Moray from 1920 and 2008 when the distillery was sold off to French spirits company La Martiniquaise. Westport is often said to be Glenmorangie, teaspooned with Glen Moray.

Offical Notes:

Nose: Seductive and complex. Stewed fruits; spice apple, plums, beeswax, chocolate, fresh orange juice, with just a hint of mint.

Palate: Full bodied and generous with fruit; fresh, dried, and candied. Orchard fruits, alongside mango, passionfruit, and pineapple.

That Boutique-y Whisky Company have bottled most distilleries in Scotland and are increasingly expanding to include whiskies from around the world. Their limited edition labels are designed by Emily Chappell and reference interesting elements (or in-jokes) about the distillery.

Boutique-y bottle their batches, which can be single cask or a number of casks, at the strength they deem the whisky is most enjoyable at.
