A single malt Glenrothes that has aged for two decades before being bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company.
Glenrothes in Speyside is a renowned single malt through the distillery's official bottlings, and while there have been some excellent independent bottlings, they are getting harder to find.
Nose: Plum pudding, brown sugar, a touch of truffle oil.
Palate: Peanut brittle, oloroso, spiced fruit compote.
Finish: Vanilla pod and clean malt notes.
From the bottlers:
"The Glenrothes distillery in Speyside is home to a 5.5 ton mash tun, twelve oak washbacks, eight stainless steel washbacks and five pairs of stills. Oh, and it also used to be home to a ghost.
"Don’t worry, he wasn’t one of those evil ghosts like in the movies, and he was courteously removed from the premises, so don’t be afraid to visit the distillery if you ever get a chance. However, do keep it in mind when you see the graveyard that’s right next to the distillery, which you can see on our Glenrothes label. There’s the ghost, too!"
