This Weeks Sake Picks!

Citizens,

Have way too much spare time on my hands so have taken over the Oak Barrel Sake division.

This week it’s my current pick on the shelves.

Kikumasamune Tokkuri Tarusake 720ml

Established over 350 years ago, Kiku-Masamune takes their status as a representative brand of Authentic Dry Sake very seriously,

This fine, dry sake is allowed to mature in barrels made of the finest Yoshino cedar. The sake is drawn from the barrel and bottled just as this aroma reaches its peak for optimal enjoyment.

Dassai Junmai Daiginjo 39 720ml

The next step up from the famed Dassai 50. The polishing takes significantly more time and effort, resulting in a much cleaner saké whilst still retaining its soft and fruity flavours.

Superbly balanced, plush sake with honeydew, apple and strawberry flavours.

Yulli's Diprotodon Doburoki Nigorizake

A Sydney Brewery First!! Made by the guys out in Yulli's Brews, Alexandria.

This Sake is unpasteurised and unfiltered; keep refrigerated and consume as early as possible.Diprotodon Nigorizake (cloudy Sake) combines old and new brewing techniques to deliver a truly unique Sake drinking experience.

Bentenmusume Junmai Daiginjo 720ml

Benten Musume, a tiny little Kura tucked away in the mountain forests of Wakasa town in Tottori prefecture Japan. This small family outfit is dedicated to making good, traditional, “Shoku-chū shu” (Sake enjoyed with a meal).

The rice they use is all grown locally in Wakasa town and on each Sake bottle, alongside the ingredients, is the name of the farmer who grew the rice.

Urakasumi Zen Junmai Ginjo 720ml

Urakasumi was founded in 1724.

The signature sake of Urakasumi. Beautifully balanced with flavour, creamy texture and a long finish with a hint of melon.

Toyosawa Shuzo Hoshuku Yuzushu 720ml

80% of the sake produced at Nara Toyosawa Brewery is made up of “named sake” that is more than pure rice sake.

Refreshinly light, bright citrus flavours combined with soft texture and a hint of sweetness.
