Oddero Barolo 2017's

Situated in the town of Santa Maria in La Morra overlooking the Langhe hills is the Oddero Barolo house. A producer which needs little introduction to lovers of Piemonte wines, Oddero is one of the most legendary and important landowners and producers of Barolo's greatest crus.

The Oddero house has over 3 centuries of viticultural history in the region, and farms a total of 35 hectares of vines - including land in Bussia, Brunate, Villero, Vigna Rionda, and much more. The estate combines their wealth of traditional knowledge with modern production techniques to produce some of the regions most famous wines.

Today the estate is run by Isabella Oddero and Pietro Oddero, and many believe the wines are the best they've ever been. Their traditionally styled winemaking has developed a huge following worldwide, especially here in Australia, and while the prices of top Barolo continues to rise, Oddero represents one of the best value buys in the region. Importer Anthony d'Anna's notes below summarise the wine's quality well -

'Oddero is an amazing Barolo producer because a) they have an extraordinary collection of legendary sites (including Brunate, Bussia, and Vigna Rionda, and Gallina in Barbaresco), and b) because they use traditional winemaking techniques that best allows these sites to express their quality and character. They are fiercely loyal to longer macerations and aging in oak casks. Look for a “classico” blend from different Barolo vineyards, or choose from single-vineyard bottlings'

We're proud to be able to offer small amounts of the newly arrived Barolo 2017's as well as the Langhe Nebbiolo 2018 and extremely rare back vintage Vigna Rionda Riserva 2013 and Bussia Vigna Mondoca Riserva 2013. Full tasting notes and reviews are available in each product.
