NØGNE Ø is Norway’s leading craft Brewery.
The name Nøgne Ø means "naked island". It was selected from a 19th-century Norwegian poem called Terje Vigen by Henrik Ibsen, it describes any of the countless stark, barren outcroppings that are visible in the rough sea off Norway's southern coast.

I did get a little carried away with ordering from these guys, Part 2 with some very funky brews will go up next week.
Drink well
This is a Rich, full-bodied, sophisticated and pitch dark Stout with tastes of coffee, chocolate, leather and dark fruits.
Try it with dark chocolate, ice cream or other desserts. We like to pour it over vanilla ice cream. Mmmmm....

There is a long story to this malty ale. It was first
brewed in the spring 2006 in Nørrebro Bryghus in Copenhagen, Denmark, as a
joint brew between Nøgne Ø and Nørrebro. Nørrebro calls their version “Double
Knot Brown”.

No other Norwegian beer has won more international prizes than our Porter. We always include it in our tastings and it has turned many a ”lager lover” on to craft beer. It has a silky smooth mouthfeel with hints of coffee and chocolate.

Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. This malty, yet light bodied ale has a massive hop bitterness. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

NØGNE Ø THE NORTHWEST PASSAGE IMPERIAL STOUT
it seemed only logical to infuse this massive Imperial Stout with smoked chaga, a mushroom used in traditional Inuit cooking and medicine. It has spent 9 months in fresh US bourbon and whiskey barrels adding vanilla and oaky tones

NØGNE Ø TWO CAPTAINS DOUBLE IPA
This double IPA is truly American inspired. It is fairly dry, which allows the hops to dominate. There is bitterness up front, some balanced malts in the middle and complex fruity and resiny hop aromas which simply has no end.

We celebrated our 500th batch by brewing an Imperial IPA. An IPA With more of everything! It’s rich, heavy on the hops and has an almost overwhelming mouth feel.
