We have a couple of the classic Belgium brewery's this week. They have been around for yonks. If you are after Belgian strong ales or Flemish reds these are well worth trying.

Brouwerij Van Steenberge is a brewery in Ertvelde, East Flanders, Belgium. The first time this brewery was mentioned on paper was in 1784.

Brouwerij Verhaeghe, established in 1875, is a small brewery located in Vichte, West Flanders, Belgium. They specialise in Flemish red ales.

This is  a beer of high fermentation with secondary fermentation. A wine yeast is used for the secondary fermentation, which also contributes to the grandiose taste.

This is a traditional top fermented reddish-brown ale from the West-Flanders region of Belgium. This refined ale also known as "The Burgundies of Belgium" is a blend of 8 and 18 months old ales following careful maturation in oak casks. 100% natural and unpasteurized.

VERHAEGHE DUCHESSE CHERRY SOUR RED/BROWN

Duchesse Cherry is a blend of 1 and 2 year-old Duchesse de Bourgogne with local, sour cherries added to the maturing beer. The malt beverage is aged in oak casks, and utilizing whole cherries from the Limburg region of Belgium.

VERHAEGHE DUCHESSE CHOCOLATE CHERRY SOUR RED/BROWN

Traditional Duchesse de Bourgogne with Belgian cherries and chocolate essence added during the maturation process in oak casks (foeders). 20 kg of whole Belgian cherries are used in the production of each 100 liters of Chocolate Duchesse Cherry.
