Amo Vino - Good Time Wines from the Riverland

Introducing Amo Vino!

The Riverland is a large Australian wine region often associated with mass scale producers pushing vineyards for maximum yields vintage after vintage, commonly overshadowing the true potential of this land. Amo Vino is a winemaking project, part of a small new-wave group of producers in the region passionate about farming with lower yields and higher quality grapes.

A trip to the Riverland with Ashley Ratcliff from Ricca Terra farms, a guru of alternate grape varieties in Australia, inspired Tim Stock (Les Fruits wines) with the true potential of these varieties in this region and Amo Vino was born.

Working with fruit from the Ricca Terra vineyards and a few neighbours, the Italian inspired range of wines is made for maximum drinkability and good times, showcasing the quality of South Australia's underdog region. This 2020 release sees 2 fresh, aromatic whites in Fiano and Tino, and juicy, textural orange wine Pelle, and a juicy, light bodied Barbera.

Amo Vino Tino 2020
$25 each or $22.50 in any 6

Hand harvested early to preserve natural acidity and freshness, our Vermentino was fermented cool with natural yeasts before spending 6 months on fine lees outside in the cold of winter. Clear and pale, Tino is bursting with aromas of grapefruit, pear, apple and white flowers. Soft and fruity, its rich flavours of pear, golden delicious apple and kiwi fruit wash across the richly textured palate.

Amo Vino Fiano 2020
$25 each or $22.50 in any 6

Hand harvested early to maintain freshness and acidity, our Fiano was fermented by natural yeast in neutral barrels and aged on lees for 6 months. There is a kiss of skin too. Lightly cloudy yellow green with aromas of waxy quince and lemon fruits, white spice and a delicate floral lift. Light with tart acidity and fine pithy tannins, zesty flavours of fresh squeezed lemon juice, sweeter Meyer lemon, green pear and pink lady apple.

Amo Vino Pelle 2020
$25 each or $22.50 in any 6

Pelle is a fun blend of Vermentino (60%), Greco (20%) and Zibibbo (20%) fermented the old way – on their skins with natural yeasts. Pressed soon after fermentation and aged in neutral barrels for 6 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Pale yellow orange colour with aromas of oranges, yellow apricots, golden delicious apple and a whiff of spice and florals. Juicy and textural its succulent citrus and stonefruit flavours are offset by savoury pithy tannins.

Amo Vino Barbera 2020

Our hand harvested Barbera was fermented with natural yeast using 30% whole bunches before being lightly pressed and aged in neutral barrels for 6 months. Medium with long flavours of raspberry, red cherry and plum, juicy acidity, fine supporting tannins and a hint of salt
