A single grain, single cask whisky bottled by Berry Brothers’ & Rudd which has the unique element of being matured in an ex-Islay cask.
Distilled in 2006, this was filled into cask #532391, bottled in 2018 at 11-year-old.
Wine and spirits merchant Berry Brothers & Rudd is located at 3 St James’ St and has remained family owned since its formation in 1698.
Tasting notes from BRR:
This ex-bourbon barrel single grain has a pronounced nose of vanilla, custard creams and some lively citrus, topped by a distinctive smokiness from its period of finishing in an ex-Islay cask.
The palate is surprisingly full and oily, with waves of coffee, cream, spice and juicy lime.
To finish, there is a delicate, spicy prickle and lingering smokiness.
