A 21-year-old expression from Balvenie that has been finished in port pipes.
Introduced in 1996, it is another highlight of Balvenie's pioneering work with finishes and has become a classic of the style.
Nose: A perfume of fruity and ripe raisin notes, backed by a nutty dryness.
Palate: Refined with remarkable character, it is creamy and silky with fruit, honey and spice notes.
Finish: Long, gentle, nutty.
Founded in 1892 and built next to sister distillery Glenfiddich, Balvenie has emerged from a history of providing whisky for various Grants blends to become one of the most in-demand names in whisky. Balvenie produces a sweet, honey new make which works well with slow, patient aging.
