The famous Butterscotch Schnapps from Mudgee’s Baker Williams distillery.
Rich and sweet, the distillery make their own butterscotch base and blend it over syrup. Goes extremely well with, or in fact over, desert (sticky date pudding, peaches, strawberries or just over ice-cream). Just delectable, and a little bit indulgent.
The distillery’s Helen Baker is the driving force behind this schnapps, which is regularly the top cellar at their cellar door. Indeed, it was the biggest seller at The Oak Barrel’s 2016 Sydney Craft Spirits Fair.
The Baker Williams distillery was established in 2011 by Helen Baker and Nathan Williams. Located in Mudgee in New South Wales’ Central West, they have been making craft spirits and liqueurs in the otherwise wine-dominated region.
As well as distilling spirit to be laid down in casks to eventually become things like whisky, they are producing gin, liqueurs and schnapps immediately.
Their bottles are instantly recognisable thanks to the striking labelling and long-drip wax seal.
