Big Red is our most complex and deep red offering, and this year is without doubt the best rendition yet with another year of honing our process.
The 2020 edition is made from Touriga Nacional (70%) and Mataro (30%). Again due to the bushfires, this fruit comes from Ricca Terra in SA.
The wine is made up of numerous small ferments, including destemmed fruit and plenty of whole bunches, all relatively untouched for up to 90 days then pressed to old barriques.
What started out as overpoweringly grippy has matured into beautifully deep chocolate with great red and black fruit character and fine tannins. It is drinking superbly now but also has a long life ahead of it.
