A 10-year-old peated Islay whisky from the Character Of Islay bottler.
Sourced from an undisclosed distillery, this is a heavily peated whisky bottled at 46%.
Oak Barrel tasting notes:
Iodine and refined smoke on the nose, no doubting that this came from Islay. A hint of citrus, but quite coastal - where are the oysters to match with? Crushed rock with time - a little dusty.
Palate is smoke first, think later. Big plume on entry with cracked pepper spice, mellows at the back in gentle waves. Finishes with wet rock drying by the sea.
