A 14-year-old single cask Caol Ila from Adelphi.

Caol Ila is part of the Diageo stable and the bulk of its 6.5 million litre annual capacity is destined for blends. For a long time a whisky insider’s secret, Caol Ila was brought online as a single malt in the late ‘80s in part to showcase the oily, coastal, smoky spirit but also to ease the demand on sister distillery Lagavulin. Now a cult favourite as an official single malt, it is also often seen in exceptional independent bottlings.
Adelphi is one of the world's top independent bottlers of whisky. They acquire casks already matured to bottle, as opposed to maturing them themselves, and the Adelphi brand has been synonymous with top quality whisky for in the post-2000 era. The company also owns the Ardnamurchan distillery on Scotland's east coast, which distilled its first spirit in 2014.
