The first release of Adelaide Hills Distillery’s Native Grain whiskey, which is distilled from native wattleseed and malted barley.
A release of just 142 bottles that has sold out at the distillery before it even landed in store, it is bottled at 46.2%. The creation of founder Sacha Le Forgia, the wattleseed is lightly roasted, ground and then fermented with barley before being distilled.
It has been matured in ex-cabernet franc French oak casks, which give the roasted, dark chocolate and caramel notes of the spirit spice and ripe red berry fruit notes.
